Chutney, Pickle, Jam, Jelly, Marmalade, Ketchup!

Some of you may know I've been working on produce for my day manning a stall of my own on the Real Food Market at Covent Garden (27th August).

These pictures are just a small selection from two marathon sessions up at my parents' house in Luton. Thank goodness for my mum and my cousin, who shared the heavy workload!

Spicy Tomato Ketchup

Apple and Sultana Chutney

Tamarind ketchup - it took so long to hand squeeze that sauce mum's pouring from the tamarind blocks soaked in water - ouch!

Apple jelly - well it was back then; now it's caramelised chewiness!

Chilli and ginger pickle

Lemon Pickle

A different chilli pickle

My favourite of the lot - nectarine and amaretto jam

that nectarine and amaretto jam was just gorgeous! And the tamarind ketchup looks like a keeper. I'll be down to stock up when you're on the stall!

I think I'll definitely be there - tamarind is one of my favourites, so stick my name on some of the ketchup.

Wow! Looking forward to visiting the stall on the 27th and hopefully meeting your mum (I'll have met you by then!). All that hard work will pay off...

can we have some recipes??

Hiya, the recipes for the chutneys and pickles are all on Mamta's Kitchen. Same for tomato ketchup, tamarind (it's called a chutney but it's a ketchup to western eyes) and the jelly.

Only the jams aren't there as they're from a recipe book!

Got to agree with gastrogeek...that nectarine and amaretto jam was divine! Perfect eaten off a spoon straight from the jar.

Aaaw, thanks! It's definitely my favourite so am going to be keeping a few jars back!

If you don't sell out today, how about you mail order me a jar of Nectarine & Amaretto and Chill & Ginger? Good luck!

Hi Simon
I'll check tomorrow what we have left (I think those two are ok but we sold out of some) and look at postage costs for you!
:)
